FUDGE
(Gerry’s Fudge or Romayne’s Ice Cream Topping)
- 1 cup of milk
- 2 cups of sugar
- 3 dessert spoons of cocoa
- 1/8 teaspoon of salt
- 2 T. butter
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla
Mix sugar, cocoa, and salt. Add milk and mix. Bring to a rolling boil with occasional stirring. Boil until mixture reaches a soft ball (2300)when a small amount is dropped into water. Cool rapidly and add the butter and a teaspoon of vanilla. Beat until stiff but able to pour on a greased plate.
