PLUM PUDDING

  • 2 cups chopped suet (1/2 lb.)
  • 1 c. chopped apples
  • 2 cups seedless raisins
  • 1 cup currants
  • 1 cup light molasses
  • 1 cup cold water
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1/2 t. salt
  • 1 t. soda
  • 2 t. cinnamon
  • 1/2 t. cloves
  • 1/2 t. allspice

Combine suet, fruits, molasses, and water. Add sifted dry ingredients and mix thoroughly. Fill greased mold two-thirds full; cover tightly and steam 3 hours. Serve hot with Lemon or Almond Sauce, recipe in this book.
